Introduction

Suntiva is seeking a Business Development Director to lead and win new business pursuits within the Department of Defense (DOD). This Director will report to the Vice President, Defense. The position will be located in Falls Church, Virginia.

What You Will Be Doing

 

  • Capturing selected DoD opportunities and overseeing bid strategies, pricing, teaming, and proposal strategies. Customer sets include United States Army and United States Navy PEO EIS organizations, Air Force BES, and Other Defense Agencies (i.e. OSD, DISA, Combatant Commands, etc.).
  • Capturing and winning digital transformation solutions and services awards including IT governance and management, data analytics, systems engineering, operations and modernization, cybersecurity, agile acquisition, implementation and quality assurance, software architecture and code assessment;
  • Capturing and winning workforce transformation solutions and services awards including workforce readiness and alignment, workforce and leadership development, workforce engagement, change readiness and enablement, workforce analytics, business process improvement, and IT workforce transformation;
  • Selling business process solutions and services including business process strategy, process redesign and optimization; business process maturity assessment, acquisition lifecycle and contract support; customized acquisition process and development training;
  • Making convincing and timely decisions related to each opportunity, including organizing and focusing the capture team resources, determining strategies, teaming and solution alternatives, and managing customer relationships;
  • Driving and/or supporting the preparation of technical proposals and responses to requests for information, proposal, quote, etc.; and
  • Building strong relationships across internal and external contacts (e.g. customer leadership, internal SMEs, PMs, capture team, industry-related organizations such as AFCEA, etc.).

What You Need For This Position

 

  • Demonstrated success capturing in the (DoD) full and open market and / or small business market;
  • Proven ability to capture digital transformation solutions and services including IT governance and management, data analytics, systems engineering, operations and modernization, cybersecurity, agile acquisition, implementation and quality assurance, software architecture and code assessment, and adoption management;
  • Proven ability to capture workforce transformation solutions and services including workforce readiness and alignment, workforce and leadership development, workforce engagement, change readiness and enablement, workforce analytics, business process improvement, and IT workforce transformation;
  • Proven ability to capture business process solutions and services including business process strategy, process redesign and optimization; business process maturity assessment, acquisition lifecycle and contract support; customized acquisition process and development training;
  • Experience working with senior management and SMEs to align capture strategies and solutions;
  • Ability to develop, cultivate and leverage strong relationships across internal and external contacts;
  • Familiarity with forming NDAs and teaming agreements;
  • Experience translating customer needs and developing strategies to address;
  • Proven ability to use market research tools (e.g. Salesforce, GovWin, etc.);
  • Ability to develop and deliver presentations to customers; and
  • Proven ability to develop, manage, and execute account and call plans.

If You Have This, It Is A Plus

  • MBA or MS degree;
  • Proficiency in SalesForce, or similar pipeline management and CRM tools a plus
